Terms of use
Last updated:
These terms are the rules for using this service. Please read them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service. Text in square brackets is not final yet.
What the service is
This service helps internationally educated nurses prepare for licensing exams and plan the steps to register as a nurse in another country. It has practice questions with explanations, a pathway planner for registration steps and dates, and premium features that you unlock with a code.
The service is run by Epitome Solutions. In these terms, we and us mean Epitome Solutions. [to be confirmed: full legal name, country of registration and postal address of Epitome Solutions] The product name may change. These terms will still apply.
This service is independent. It is not connected to, approved by or endorsed by NCSBN, NMBA, Ahpra, ANMAC, NMC, NCNZ, Pearson VUE or OET. NCLEX is a registered trademark of NCSBN. The other names are trademarks of their owners. We use them only to say which exam or organisation we mean.
Our practice questions are written for this service. They are not real exam questions. Our rule is that a registered nurse must approve each question before a learner sees it.
The service is for study. It is not for patient care. Do not use it to make decisions about the care of a real person. Follow the policies of your employer and the law where you work.
How we handle your information is explained in the privacy policy.
Who may use the service
You must be 18 or older to use the service.
The service is for your own study. You are responsible for following the laws of the country where you live and use it.
Your account
- You make an account with an email address and a password. Give correct details and use your own email address. We do not check email addresses yet, so we cannot confirm who owns an address.
- Choose a password that other people cannot guess. It must have at least 10 characters. Keep it secret.
- An account is for one person. Do not share your account or let other people use it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
- We cannot see your password. There is no password reset button yet. If you forget your password, write to us. We will reset it by hand, and the reset signs you out everywhere. [to be confirmed: how we check that the person who asks owns the account]
- You can delete your account yourself. On the website, open Account, then Delete my account. In the phone app, open Account, then Privacy centre, then Delete my account. Premium time that is left ends with the account. The privacy policy says what is erased and what stays.
The free starter and premium
Free starter
Every account has the free starter. It includes the pathway planner, 10 practice questions a day, and one diagnostic session. A day is counted in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). The daily limit starts again at midnight UTC, which is 05:45 in the morning in Nepal. Questions you download to use offline count in the same limit.
Premium
Premium unlocks parts of the service that the free starter does not have. For example, the main study product removes the daily limit. You get premium by entering a valid code in the app or on the website. About codes:
- A code can be used once.
- The access belongs to the account that enters the code. You cannot move it to another account. Codes and access cannot be transferred, given away or resold.
- The access lasts for a set number of days, which starts on the day you enter the code. When it ends, your account goes back to the free starter. Your information stays in your account. If you enter another code for the same product while the access is still active, the days are added to the end of the current period.
- We do not replace a code that is lost, stolen or shared. Keep your code safe. Do not post codes in public.
- If you enter wrong codes too many times, you must wait one hour before you can try again.
- We may cancel a code that we issued by mistake or that was misused.
Codes may come from us, from a partner such as a consultancy, or from a seller. [to be confirmed: where and how codes are sold, the price and the tax]
Refunds and cancellations: [refund wording to be decided by Epitome]
We may change what the free starter and premium include. If a change removes a feature from premium access that is already active, [how the remaining time is treated, to be decided by Epitome]
Acceptable use
You must not:
- share your account, or share, post or sell codes;
- make more than one account to get more free daily questions;
- copy, record, download in bulk, scrape or publish the questions, explanations or other content, by hand or with a tool;
- try to find or reveal correct answers, explanations or hints in any way that the app does not give you, for example by changing the requests that the app sends;
- use the service in a real exam, or in any way that breaks the rules of an exam provider;
- use the nurse review tool or any admin tool unless we gave your account that role;
- try to break, overload or probe the service for weak points without our written permission;
- pretend to be another person, or use an email address that is not yours;
- use the service to break the law or to harm other people.
If you find a security problem, please tell us through the contact details below and do not share it with others.
Content and ownership
We or the people who license content to us own the content in the service. This includes the questions, explanations, hints, planner wording, software, design, names and logos. The law protects them.
We give you a personal, limited permission to use the service and its content for your own study. You cannot pass this permission to anyone else. You get no other rights.
You keep ownership of what you enter, such as your answers and your dates. You allow us to store and use them to run, protect and improve the service, as the privacy policy says. [to be confirmed: lawyer to review this licence wording]
We may use feedback that you send us to improve the service.
No promise of results
The service helps you study. We do not guarantee that you will pass any exam, be allowed to register, get a visa or find a job. Many things that we do not control decide these results.
We do not say how many learners pass, and nothing in the service predicts your result. The skill estimate and the readiness band come from your answers and use our own scale. They are not exam scores and they do not predict an exam result.
Content may contain mistakes, even after review. If you find one, please tell us.
The pathway planner
The pathway planner shows the steps, rules and deadlines for registering as a nurse. Today it covers Australia only. Other countries are not available yet.
The information comes from the sources that the planner names, such as pages from NMBA, Ahpra, NCSBN and ANMAC. Each source shows the date when we last checked it. Rules, fees and dates can change after that date.
The planner works out your dates from the dates that you enter. If a date you enter is wrong, or a date is missing, the plan will be wrong. Please check every date.
The planner is general information. It is not migration advice, visa advice, legal advice or advice about your own registration. Before you pay a fee or make a decision, check with the official source or with a qualified adviser.
The planner shows reminder dates. It does not send you messages today.
Availability and offline use
We try to keep the service available, but we cannot promise that it will always work. We may stop it for maintenance, for updates, or for reasons that we do not control.
Some parts need an internet connection: signing in, entering a code, timed mock tests, and sending your answers to us.
Offline question sets are for practice only. A set works for 14 days and then expires. Answers you give offline are sent to us when you are online again. If you sign out of the app before they are sent, they are lost.
Some screens in the app are marked as prototypes. They show how a feature may look. They may not work yet.
We cannot promise that the website or the app will work on every device.
Suspending or ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time. To close your account, delete it yourself, as described under your account above. If you cannot, write to us.
We may limit, suspend or close an account in three cases. The first is when you break these terms. The second is when someone else seems to be using the account. The third is when we need to protect the service, other users or the law. When we can, we will tell you why.
If we close your account because you broke these terms, [what happens to unused premium time, to be decided by Epitome]
If we end the whole service, we will give notice. [length of notice, to be decided by Epitome]
Our responsibility
We work to keep the service accurate and safe. We cannot promise that it will have no mistakes and no breaks.
[limits on our responsibility to be written by Epitome with legal advice, including the rights that the law of your country does not allow us to remove]
Governing law and disputes
[governing law and courts to be set by Epitome with legal advice]
If you have a problem, please write to us first. We will try to solve it.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will put the new version on this page with a new date. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app. [to be confirmed: how we will tell you, because email addresses are not verified yet] If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
